This year in addition to rafting we did the treetops zip lining canopy tour which was fantastic. Cullen and Ryan were informative, entertaining and extremely knowledgeable. The zip lining itself was a bit scary but at no time did I feel like I was in danger. It is definitely a safety first adventure where you are tethered at all times, even when changing lines. Even the guides follow the same rules. The value added piece of this adventure was the amazing information the guides dishes out. We learned a lot about the flora and fauna and also the genesis of why this zip line facility was built. There is an invasive Japanese beetle that is killing all the conifers in this forest, So they installed the zip line tour to fund treatment of their 40 acre property where they treat every tree every three years as needed. So not only was fun, it helps to save this amazing forest!
We really enjoyed the canopy zip lines! Our guides - Jay and Tommy were great, funny, and very helpful!. Loved getting a few lessons on the trees and nature growing around the zip lines. The scenery was beautiful! We would recommend this activity!
We loved this getaway! We were 2 families staying together with 2 x 12 year olds, 1 x 13 year old, and 1 x 16 year old. We stayed in a 3 bedroom cabin which was perfect for us. It was great that every activity was 2 minutes walk away (Ropes course, zip lining, bus to white water rafting) and hikes were a 5 minute drive. The ropes courses were great and had great variation of difficulty levels and longer courses that u would need to go back at least mire than one time to possibly try them all. The zip lining was awesome with varying lengths and speed zip lines, suspension bridges, and some ecology and forest education that we enjoyed. The white water rafting was incredible! One the best rafting trips we ever took (which includes trips to Colorado, Utah, and Alaska)! The range of rapids, rock jumping, swimming through class 1 rapids, and swimming in calm water In 95degree weather met everyone’s level of adventure and enjoyment! Very highly recommend this for a getaway vacation. We visited during COVID summer 2020. It was our only vacation that replaced 2 other oversea vacations planned. Adventures on the Gorge proved worth it and felt like a great vacation and helped us overcome the disappointment of cancelling our original plans. We definitely would go back and are thinking of planning to return already!
Fun day zip lining! We have zip lined in several states and countries, and this was another great experience! I even got real smiles from our teenage son! Our guides were Mary and Baylee, both fun and informative. We felt safe the whole time and got to see so many gorgeous views! They were always telling us great info about the area and trees, plus answered all our questions. It was 95 degrees when we zipped, so the best was when at the end, they offered ice cold pop and adult beverages!
Spent the day with Lana and Bailey. They were the greatest guides to get our first time zip liner of 10 years old to feel comfortable going. After the brief training she was ready to go. We are a family of 4 two kids 10 and 12. By the 3rd zip she was dropping her right hand to enjoy the ride. The whole family enjoyed our afternoon on the course with a good mix of hiking, skybridges and of course zipping. The last event is a 30 foot rappel, our 10 year old asked to go first and rocked it! Most importantly, it showed the confidence the guides helped to grow that day. They also took the time to also explain the course and the local flora which is much different from our home in WI. Afterwards we hung out with them for a while while cooling down and talking about the day.
We had a wonderful time ziplining in the beautiful West Virginia! We did the canopy tour and it lived up to everything I hoped it would and more. We felt safe and had so much fun zipping. Getting to do more In addition to the zip lines with the sky bridges and repel made it that much more special and worth the price. Our guides Mary and Daniel were experienced and friendly, and we found a great spot with all the various other activities this location offers. Plus, it was .75 wing night on a Monday so we found our spot for a delicious meal with a gorgeous view of the river and bridge.
