With all other tours closed for winter or Covid, I figured we'd give this a try. I was a little skeptical that we could get a personalized tour of the city for such a reasonable price on such short notice (we booked less than 24 hrs ahead of time). When I read the reviews here I kept seeing George's name so when I booked the tour I asked for him. Within 30 minutes or so of booking online George called me to schedule the time and confirm our pickup location. We were hoping to go on our 2 hour tour at 10:30 the next day but he only had 9:15 or after 4pm. And that is about the only negative thing I have to say, the tour company doesn't allow you to schedule the exact time when you book online. That said, the tour was phenomenal. George is a Pittsburgh native and expert on the city. He asked about our interests and where we wanted to go. We were in Pittsburgh for the first time to visit University of Pittsburgh for my daughter as she was looking to attend graduate school there. We told him we wanted to see the neighborhoods to get an idea of where we would like to rent an apartment and that I was interested in the history of the city. We got exactly what we asked for and overall were extremely pleased with George's ad hoc tour and very glad we decided to do it! It really was perfect.

We were taking our 12 year old grandson. The trip to Pittsburgh was his Christmas gift from us and an attempt to share some of my early life with him. When asked what his favorite part of the tour was his response was George, the tour guide. George literally went out of his way to make our trip perfect. Tommy, a Clevelander through and through came away with a great impression and knowledge of Pittsburgh because of George’s enthusiasm, knowledge, and personality. I would recommend this tour very very highly.

Took two tours with George in one day they were so good. Lenny of recommendations on other attractions s for your visit also and able to drop off and pick up wherever. Truly a must do tour.

I learned more about Pittsburgh than I thought there was to learn! Even my teenaged grandchildren enjoyed the day. George is phenomenal!!! He truly knows Pittsburgh and is very eager to share his knowledge. He was wonderful with the kids and could easily relate to them. I was afraid the kids would be bored but once we got back into our own car, they couldn't stop talking about George and what they learned. He told them that he was going to convince them that Pittsburgh was the coolest town, and he did. So much so, that the 23 year old is talking about moving here!!! Thank you, George.

George DeBolt was a fantastic tour guide. His tour felt like we were on a game show with excitement in every part of the tour. He was so entertaining and enthusiastic, a natural. We learned so much about the city, sports, architecture, and its history. George was truly a special treat. He sincerely puts his heart and soul into this wonderful experience. We will never forget it. Thank you for making our first trip to Pittsburgh so memorable.

Through the course of tour, George acknowledged party’s interests and addressed through the trip. A wealth of information, smart, humorous, outgoing…passionate to the history of Pittsburgh! Enthusiasm was contagious!

If you are new to Pittsburgh I highly recommend doing this tour. George was phenomenal. He worked around our schedule, location, and interests, including pickup and drop-off at our chosen locations. His knowledge of the city and its history was unmatched. He was also very personable and funny. Pay close attention to why Pittsburgh is called The City of Champions... :)
