Or, if you feel inspired, join the crew to hoist the sails or take a turn at the ship's wheel. All ages are welcome! Whether you're nine years old or 99, sailing aboard our Maine schooners is a unique adventure. All of our wooden windjammers are listed on the National Register of Historic Places and were built in Maine. Certified by the U.S. Coast Guard, Bagheera was built in 1924 and can comfortably accommodate 35 guests.

great trip around the Harbor in Portland. Crew was friendly and fun. Not much commentary but the main sites were pointed out.

This was the best time! We had a great wind and the crew was fantastic. Sean (Captain), Feona, Sarah and Chuck are a lot of fun and they are very knowledgeable. They made us feel very welcome and even asked us to help them “raise the sails”! The weather was cloudy, windy and the temperatures were high 40’s and low 50’s - a little cool but we came prepared with hats, gloves and jackets. Casco Bay is beautiful and we sailed by 3 of the main lighthouses on the Bay - it was impressive. We also learned about the forts and some history of Portland and the Bay. We highly recommend this trip!

October 19, 2021 we ventured out and took a trip on Casco Bay. We can’t brag enough on the crew of the Timberwind! Sean, Chuck, Feona and Sarah were fantastic! They are all very knowledgeable about the area and the sailing vessel. We learned so much and enjoyed the trip out to the area by Portland Head Light Lighthouse. We had great wind and the crew worked hard - we even helped a little when raising the sails. We highly recommend this trip.

Friendly crew but no narration or information offered at all on the 2hr voyage in the bay - very surprised. Good if looking to kill time (you will need to since there’s little else to do in this town). Bring food and drink and make your own entertainment otherwise this will be very boring. Feeling lost and unable to locate your boat and captain? Go past the Ferry ticketing center as close to the water as possible to find the nondescript gray wood shack with no signs, order of any sort, or employees who know who they work for. There you will find a quiet lady checking your name off a list and handing you your ticket - are you going on the wine and dine cruise or the mime cruise? The choice is yours, nobody really knows.

It was an amazing experience once we got on the boat. Karen almost made us miss it all. Had a noon cruise and when we called for better directions to the dock house, when on our way, Karen said we had missed our 11am and she could bump us to 130.(Later I checked all emails... We received an email at 4am the day of the cruise changing our noon cruise to 11am!) She then gave us directions to the wrong boat where she greeted us and after she left the crew sent us to the other pier where our boat actually was. Karen was there to give us the tickets and instead of apologizing for the inconvenience she said "at least you got your walking in!" And laughed. My mother, post stroke, didn't need the extra walking. Thanks Karen. You're an inconsiderate brat. Do better. The 3 crew members made the actual cruise magical! Highly recommend. Just beware of ANY and ALL directions from Karen!

During tour there is no narration. 2 hours slowly going around bay. The schooner never goes lose to shore to view highlights of area.

Had a nice relaxing sail in the harbor on a gorgeous sunny day. Crew was great! ...no worry, you're not going to get sea sick sailing in the harbor.
